HD vid cams

Contemplating upgrading my vid cam to HD, any one got any suggestions and reasonable prices.  Anywhere upto the grand mark at this stage, would like to get a hardy one that can handle the lumps n bumps of fishing wide.

Cheers,
Adam

Been looking at Harvey Norman site this morning

The wife is out today buying a DSLR and I have been looking at the Video Cams also. They have some nice options for Sony and Canon well under the grand mark. It may be worth checking out Adam. I don't know a lot about how robust they are but the brands themselves stack up. I have a feeling the Wife will bring home the Canon 600D DSLR. Another interest free debt to pay off LOL.

Hey Adsy something to consider is that some of the new SLR's shoot really nice HD footage (a lot of proffessionals use them for this purpose).. I was thinking of upgrading my HD camera to something a little more up market but if I end up with the 7D I'll probably get rid of my handycam. Would make life so much simpler on the boat being able to switch between taking high quality photos and HD filming with the same device... underwater housings are available obviously but pricey and since you only want to shoot above water this won't be a problem anyway.
