HDS 10 Gen 2 fuel flow sensor input

Fitting fuel flow to back of HDS 10, do I need to add in the NMEA200 box or can the lead go direct into the back of the sounder unit?
I have the flow meter and lowrance starter kit

You will need to create a NMEA backbone with the starter kit and plud it into that
