HDS upgrade

I went out for a fish after upgrading my HDS7 to version 4 software.It now redraws chart screens much faster and it seems to bootup a bit quicker.
The main improvement is the sonar.In the past as soon as I went over around 1400 rpm I would have problems with electrical interference and I was forever adjusting the gain for different speeds.All that seems to be sorted out now as the interference is gone and I can pretty much leave the gain setting the same for drifting and travelling.I found I had to run the gain about 10% higher than I used to.
If you have an HDS it is well worth doing the upgrade.

Good on ya Crano, I haven't done the upgrade myself as my unit seems to read pretty good as it is, and I need help from the misses to do it, but good to know and will do it on Sunday.

be warned it does take a while
