I didn't even realise until today that you can have the range set to 'custom' and only show the bottom few metres if you want. 'Custom' is hidden at the bottom of the range selection. Well it was hidden from me as I never scrolled to the deeper settings. Amazing what happens if you read the manual! No more need to use zoom.

 

I'll be trying it out tomorrow morning

Snapper tend to show up really well on sounders

any reason why your running 50hz in quite shallow water?
