Was looking at them, they look good. Just interested if there's any other models a little cheaper that are almost as good.

You could take a look at the seo 3 or 5 for something cheaper. Obviously fewer lumens and they're not rechargeable.

 Black Diamond Icon.

Not the cheapest, or the lightest (in terms of weight), but it's bloody bright, tough and has a hell of a long burn time. It's also IPX7 water resistant.

stratos fear has an awesome one that has a wave in front function so you don't get your smelly bait hands all over it. just wave your hand past it and it lights up, wave again and its off. very bright, not sure on the price.

I had a headlamp that had that wave function, but I found that everytime I leant in close to look at something it would turn itself off. I think a button suits me better.

Led lenser 7 is the rolls

Tue, 2014-06-10 15:24

Led lenser 7 is the rolls royce.   There is a mob in Qld who sells a very good copy for less than half price.  They were in last months 4 wd magazine advertised

for a smaller lighter unit u cant go past zebra lights- indestructible imo.

Beware any of the led lenser models less than the 7 they dont like water much

For what I need

Tue, 2014-06-10 15:32

would go the SEO. Not crazy priced, and even though mine is not rechargeable it lasts ages.

Use mine at home as a torch now doing any sort of chore in darkness or a spot that needs lighting. Love mine so much I have 3. One for the boss and myself, and a spare as a backup if one fails, go flat, even though it is very easy to change the 3 batteries.

LED Lenser

Tue, 2014-06-10 20:14

LED Lenser for me I have 2 H7's as I thought I lost one so as I liked it so much I went straight out and got another one..... they are mint.... I would have got the rechargeable one but if I run out of power while out bush I wouldn't always be able to charge it so keep a pack of spare bateries handy...

Huge fan of Led Lenser, I will buy nothing else.  I've had a H7 which was awesome but got used so much it broke a wire and stopped working.  I have an H14 which is rediculously bright and just got an SEO 7R which is a new H7 but rechargable and has a few more funky features.  It has a Red LED for low light situations when you just want to see what you're doing without loosing your night vision, great feature.

LED Lenser

Hi Guys

Can you advise where the batteries are stored for the Lenser. Also, looked at catch of the day. These are selling for $39 on catch of the day. Seems cheaper than other places

Eric

H7 has a small battery pack

Tue, 2014-06-10 22:39

H7 has a small battery pack at the rear of the strap (x3 AAA), H14 is the same (x4 AA).  SEO 7R has a small rechargable battery pack rechargable with micro USB which is mounted on the front strap just behind the lamp

Crazy amount of led lenser

Wed, 2014-06-11 07:22

Crazy amount of led lenser fanboys out there thats for sure. My H7 crappy tilt mechanism broke after a week. Also found I dont like the weight of the batteries strapped to the back of my head. I use a petzl tikka xp ive had for many years, small, light, and plenty of PROXIMITY light. If I want throw some lumens out there I use a proper torch.

Just watch out for the too good to be true Led Lensers on Ebay.

Plenty of counterfeit ones on there.

Go with a reputable seller or shop.

Masters sell the H7 for $74

Wed, 2014-06-11 17:56

Masters sell the H7 for $74 everyday price. Not sure if its the R version or not though. I use the H14R which is great except its a bit heavy after a few hours of fishing. The SEO7R looks the goods
