Submitted by Moking on Sat, 2016-01-30 08:06
Really looking forward to a few days of fishing down at Walpole.
School holidays will be finished,so hopefully the Caravan park will be less congested.
Hopefully there are still some fish around in the Channels and Flats.
Anyone with up to date Fishing Reports?
Let you know how I went when I get back.
Cheers.

Come say hello I'll be down
Come say hello I'll be down then! I'm staying at rest point, herring and bream are pretty thick at minute had a mate just get home from there. Big swell will be rolling through so no good offshore for the next couple of days!

Likewise same- I'll have to
Likewise same- I'll have the Ski rigged and ready for fishing. Even going to put a few crab nets on the back of the Ski, might be dreaming about the results though! lol
Catch-up for a beer with results of days fishing.
Hopefully the swell drops by next week, was looking forward to have a troll around Saddle Island and close inshore.

Heading in and out of the mouth of the inlet at Walpole
Whats the go on heading out through the mouth of inlet for a bottom bash around the islands, pick the channel, stay to left near the sand bar then as you leave the mouth swap over closer to the shore on the right to avoid the bar showing on google earth. Avoid coming in on an outgoing tide and give it a miss all together if the forecast is for >15knots and 1.5M swell? Better off launching 5M boat at Peaceful. Any advice welcome, cheers.

As your heading out stay
As your heading out stay very left then at the last minute when your about to go around the little sand spit head straight towards the old jetty then stay right all the way out of the inlet but not to close to the rocks! I do it in an 8m low tide you'll be ok steady and lift the legs up!

As Bryce said you,ll be fine
Went there for the first time coupla years ago. Channel was shallower than usual according to the bloke that showed us the route with 500mm of water in some spots, just trimmed right up and scraped through.
Worst day we went out was a 3 or 4 metre swell and got through no dramas. 5.6m boat
