Help to identify my Penguin boat

Can anyone help to identify the model of my fibreglass Penguin 6.4 mtr boat. I have tried searching the web for penguin boats without luck . I think it is early 1980's . Who made the penguin boats and is there anyone i can talk to or somewhere i can look ? I have owned the boat for 16 years and have never known the model.
Can post a pic if that helps anyone.

Penguin boats were made in

Fri, 2007-06-22 15:16

Penguin boats were made in Cannington in the early 80s, Factory was just of Albany HWY, the hull looks like it could be Penguin the rest
doesn't look factory. Might be a Huntress, the only other glass boat I can think of in that size range is the ultimate hull but that has
a deeper hull. The owner of Penguin back then was a guy called Julius
he passed away a while ago now. They made a good boat, marine and harbours bought alot of them back then. They must have been one of the first domestic alloy boat manufacturers along with trailcraft when
they where plate boats.

fibreglass mate

It's a fibreglass 6.4 with a volvo inboard . Only guessing about the year but I think it is 1983 or there abouts.
If you could track it down it would be fantastic as I have had no luck. Have done some homework and found the boats were made by penguine marine in cannington by a bloke called Julius Silvari ( or silvarney or something like that).

Ok ive done another search

Fri, 2007-06-22 15:24

Ok ive done another search and this is what i have come up with........ In between 1979 and 1985 the was a series of boats made by boat builders in australia, there was 3 desighns and they all had volvo inboard motors with the exception of one with was custom ordered with a 454 worked 500hp chev which one customer wanted. The three models where called the 5.2m Phantom, the 5.8m phantom and the 6.4m phantom! There was no pictures available of the boats from what i can see. The design was brought out by another company in newzealand which from what i gather still produce it!( don t know there name either!) This is all i could find between about 100 quick scanned sites. So im guessing that yours must be the 6.4m phantom. Hope this has helped and when i get a further spare time i will suss it out further but by the sounds im on the right track!

Thanks Spess and Vagabond

Fri, 2007-06-22 15:36

Finding the model of boat is just one of those things that is bugging me . I appreciate your help.
Vagabond - you are on track as the hard top and claers are something I have added but that is all. I have seen the Penguin Ultimate and it is slightly bigger boat , about 23 foot walkaround deck and not as sharp a front V as on mine. The huntress is a smaller boat and looks a much different hull..
Spess - where do you find all this out , I am searching the net and not doing as well as you. Sounds like you are on the ball.
Thanks again for your help.
