Hi guys, doing my nut here,
I have found a few lead suppliers, but am struggling to find anyone in Perth that can supply Tin. I want to try cast some jigs out of it, should retain the shine better.
Any ideas

Keep in mind that tin (the
Keep in mind that tin (the shiny version) is a little less dense than steel and a fair bit less than lead so a jig will weigh less for the same volume.
If you cast the jigs out of lead, then hot dip them in tin, you'll get the silvery coating, but the density of lead (so they'll sink and case better). Depending how you did it, it might be possible to scratch off parts and get a duo effect (but I don't know how durable that would be).
Have you rang around all the scrap metal dealers? Some deal with rarer metals than the usual steel and copper. Also try ringing hobby stores and art as people use tin to make castings of models.

2 brilliant ideas there.
It'll take me a while to get set up, but I do some experements with a hot dip, and I think that duo effect would be brilliant.
I'll have to try the scrap dealers and Hobbist cause the generic metal guys aren't interested.
Thanx
