Price of water tanks & sheds (semi-rural)

I'm doing some back of the envelope calculations on moving from suburbia to 1 to 2 HA a little further out.

Keen to get some supply and install ballparks from those that have gone through a similar build

watertank - circa 100000L
Garage/Shed - park boat, trailer, mower and man cave
Septic System - straight leech style or a fancier treatment unit

Cheers.

Water tanks and septic

Mon, 2013-06-17 21:13

I scored a 55000 litre rhino water tank from the karragullen show a couple of years ago for $6500, you could probably triple that price now for 100000 litre tank.septic tank setup cost me about$10000-$12000 that included 20t excavator with rock breaker, 2 tanks,30 metres of leach drains and a dozen semi's of clean fill.

It's only money

I hope you are cashed up, I am doing the same in Jurien. For the septics make sure you are allowed them or your up for a bio system and  they are not cheap. A lot depends on where you are, what size shed etc. I got a 12 -7.5 m shed with a 4m leanto running the full length for 11k, (pick up from factory) the conc will cost about $40-50 Sqm but a mate will do mine at a special discounted rate (price of conc + key to gate). Is your block powered, another costly thing to do and consider where you put your shed /house etc

Depends

Site works etc depend a lot on site specific things such as soil type (ie sand, clay, limestone). Council rules are also a factor. If you are building North of Perth I may be able to help with the shed.

I'm running the ecomax septic

Tue, 2013-06-18 22:13

I'm running the ecomax septic system and it's been in for 7 years without a problem. Touch wood! I think it was about 7 grand. The ecomax has no ongoing costs. 120 000l tank was about 10 grand and we had a few dramas with the bag leaking. Every time it leaked we had to drain all the water and pay for a few loads. Probably dumped 1000 bucks worth of water until they finally got the bag fixed!

In oakford you will have to

In oakford you will have to add about 20 grand for 800-1000mm sand pad because its on clay. And another couple of grand for decent driveway. Well worth it for the lifestyle but!
