im no expert but the rod should be ok.

but i would upgrade the reel to a 4000 or a 5000 just for more line on the reel.

solid tip rod, yeh will be

solid tip rod, yeh will be fine for what your using it fine, most important is the reel drag is smooth if it isnt you can get away with putting heavier braid to get away with the sticky drag.

should hold for mulloway, i

should hold for mulloway, i caught 2 big ones around the 1.2-1.3 metre mark on my stradic 4000 with 20lb braid, handed them easy with not much drag required, didnt even take much line, a 3000 with 20lb braid will be perfect i reckon.

i'm thinking more 15lb

i'm thinking more 15lb braid, probs be fine with tailor, and a tip with kalbarri, go down to castle rock (12km from the river mouth) and you catch large soapies and big bream, probs test it out there
