If you launch at Cockburn and fish at Rotto (say) when the ban is in for Cockburn but the demersal ban hasn't started and you catch a couple of pinkies can you bring them back through the sound to retrieve at Cockburn ? if you can, how do fisheries know that the fish was not caught in Cockburn ?

Possible
Just heard that on the radio on some oldies station, was in my dad's car.
The bloke reconed you can do that but if you stop in the sound for any reason you will be pinged. Still you are better to have some form of proof that you were fishing at Rotto. Like a record on your plotter showing the trip through the sound, drifts at rotto, trip home with no stops.
Now that was just what he said and i didnt get a name or if he actually knows the rules. Best bet is to send an email to fisheries and check.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

Page 45 of the fishing rules
Page 45 of the fishing rules guide:
It is illegal to be in possession of pink snapper while fishing in the waters of Cockburn and Warnbro sounds during the closed season. However, pink snapper taken outside the sounds may be transported through, and immediately landed, within the area during the closed season.

If motor stops for any reason
Start rowing, paddling, swimming behind boat and push. Swim in front of boat and pull with rope, can't think of any more ways to keep boat going through water.
Remember just don't stop.
Fisheries are every where watching watching waiting.
