Hi all great site for information for a newbie , as the name suggests I have a great record of catching Blowies in the Sawn , Just got myself a nice boat and intend to go out from freemantle into the wide blue ocean ,just wanting an idea where would be a good spot to start don't intend to go out for mikes as yet do the closer marks to freemantle would suit, any ideas would be much appreciated ,had s few boats in my time not really done much fishing from them

Just grab a marine chart mate,
....and look for some rough ground around the distance you feel safe out there.. look for Five Fathom Bank on the chart and go somewhere off the reef, and initialy stay away from white water and breaking waves.. drift along the bank and give it a bash, or head out and look for groups of other boats and drift nearby..
