high water level in the river ?

i've been walking along the river a lot in recent times, and the water level seems a lot higher than usual ?

I checked the tide data and it doesnt look like it should be any higher than normal though....

Its to do with the remnants

Its to do with the remnants of the cyclone, BOM had a warning a couple of days back.

there is a component of the tides called "residual" which cant be predicted long term as it is due to atmospheric factors. Here in gero the residual is normally 00 to .3 meters over astronomical tide. Night before last it was .75, higher than ive ever seen it. Look at the tidal info for Geraldton Port Authority or Freo and it should show actual heights.

You can see it pretty clearly in the residual graph for Fremantle. 75cm above predicted tides at the moment.

Low atmospheric pressure from the low pressure system (ex cyclone) thats what storm surge is
