Hillaries this morning
Submitted by Leemo on Mon, 2009-10-05 13:08
went down to hillaries this morning for a plastics/lure fish with schecky. got down about 830 and had a look at some promising spots. had a few good hits near the resturant and reubs got bitten off by something decent. we then walked out to the lighthouse and casted flickbaits into the channel. i got a smallish skippy but it was good to finally get one on placcies after so long. reub then hooked up to a solid fish. after a short fight, he landed a 70 odd cm snook. we then flicked around the disabled platform and reub hooked up then dropped a fish, but 30 seconds later had a screamer of a run and got bitten/busted off. nice morning to be out there and it wasnt a bad lil session

Might have been another big snook
I am sure there was a bit of a school of them at Flat Rocks yesterday - and they can run hard when they first take off - and they have the dentures to bite you off pretty quick.

he had the drag set pretty tight. if it was another snook, it would have been heaps bigger than his first. luckily he managed to hook the snook perfectly, so his teeth were nowere near his leader.

I am not sure Shizz as I haven't hooked any other big ones
The one I caught on Sunday ripped a bit of drag off my 8000 Stradic, but once I turned his head he gave up the ghost pretty quickly.
