Hillarys Boat Harbour
For many years the only place too launch a boat was at the ramp near the HMAS Leewin, for boating north of the river,we then got the Hillary s marina,(also the Ocean Reef) but have any of you people been down to Hillary s this season,if so ,you will notice cars, with no trailers parked in the car/trailer bays,I believe there are 241/247 bays for trailers, and as we all know, there has been a huge increase in the number of trailer boats.
My question is way are cars allowed to park in this, boating use area, and take up room for trailers,we have to pay a fee of $6.00 to launch and park, these cars do not?
They were meant to be allowed to park there after 1200hrs(noon) but a mate got there at 1130 and could not find a parking spot,he parked his car in a single car bay,put the trailer up on the median strip and was fined, but the cars taking up the boat trailer bays are not touched,I know that we boaties are a selfish bunch of extremely wealthy people who can be forced to pay for everything, but I think the government should allow only boating activities in the area designated for it,not people who are using the commercial side of the marina.
The Hillarys marina is run buy the department of planning F****ups and they are the ones who said that it was ok to build the northern bridge and more shops, knowing that we,the rcreationals boating public are already short of good facilities in the northern suburbs, T put this down to greed on the part of some selfinterested peole who could not give a toss for us boatiers, what do any of you people think, maybe,Im the one thats wrong to think we get short shafted every time by goverments state and localjersey

Parking
It was mayhem there today, but still heaps of room left. You will find most of the single cars are people going out as a deckie on other boats, so i think they should be allowed to park there. The toilets have been done up, and always clean... I personally dont find anything wrong with the hillarys setup. Once you get your self a yearly parking ticket for $100 , its all to easy!

That new bridge and massive pub and the fisheries research centre hasnt really done much for parking availability.
The bridge has encouraged piss drinkers to park on the north side because of the new access.
Really there should have been additional parking supplied with all those new facilties.
I heard the other day that Pinnaroo doesnt have launching off the beach anymore. Is that true and if so it would also put more pressure on the facility.
If the car park was full and only the baot trailer was on the medium strip then some consideration should have been taken.
At the end of the day they dont give a hoots and another $100 in the pcoket doesnt phase them.
I see there is parking meters at some of the beaches now and there is plans to having parking meters at all the beaches.
No free day at the beach anymore. The end of an era really.
No wonder people are getting fat. Its too expensive to do anything active.

ps. Leuween ramp is $12
ps. Leuween ramp is $12 bucks. If the deckies come form opposite directions and they do its $36 dollars parking for a fish for the day.
It appears when the Labour government screamed for more workers in Western Australia they forgot to spend on infrastructure.
Now WA hasnt got any jobs or houses for them. Well if you wish to pay 600 grand for a piece of junk compared to a few years ago.
WAs infrastructure is now under tremendous strain. Anyone tried to to the green thing and catch a train to work in the morning?
The freeways a nightmare.
What a complete and utter f^(& up!

It must be that they blew all our horrendous concil rates on the sub prime mortgage market.
Land taxes are up. Actually the amount of state revenue licences and taxes skyrocketed under the last government.
Stamp duties were supposed to be abolished with the introduction of the GST.
Anyone see how much their vehicle, boat, trailer licences increased. Actually boat registration went up to build and maintain better boat car park facilities.
With rising unemployment they all need to back off or their going to totally ruin whats left of the economy.
Dont expect a tonne of tax from me this year Mr Rudd, I havent earnt any money to give you any. In fact I think you might be handing me a tonne of provisional cash back from last year.
The BIA should have beating some heads in for all the contracting infrastructure contraction in Hilaries and the rising ramp fees across the state.
People who cant holiday here will holiday overseas in places like New Zealand at the drop of the hat. No shortage of fun activities over there. They know how to party and generate tourism dollars. They didnt pin their hopes on a bus load of wild flower pensioners thats for sure.
WA , The state of blue rinse nannies, definately not excitement.

Someone would have said, we
Someone would have said, we want to build a big pub at Hilaries. The government would have said just think fo the alcohol tax we can generate of that, no worries go ahead.
So in effect they have encouraged drinking and discourage family exercise activites.
No wonder were turning into fat alcoholics. Theyre drunk on the piss tax.

no problemo
Nothing wrong with the setup at hillarys (in my humble opinion). Was down there thismorning, what a nightmare, not the infrastructure but the ignorant people attempting to launch and retrieve boats.
Not all but not a minority either, people pushing in to launch, pushing in to retrieve, people seeing a line up all the way out around the south round about to launch so deliberately went around the north side to push in and gain a 20 boat head start, i wasnt in a rush and actually let 2 people in here.
Also broken bottles all over the car park.
After arriving back at the jetty from fishing and moving my boat as far forward as possible to allow other boats to dock behind me, i walk to my car and return to retrieve, when i start to reverse notice someone else is there in the middle of the 2 ramps retrieving his boat, there are 2 ramps people not 3! Anyway this guy and i have seen plenty of others doing the same thing over time make everyone else following the rules wait, then after this idiot got out of the way and i did retrieve my boat and moved up to the wash down area, i parked perfectly in a single allocated bay and some other idiot parked diagonally in front of me blocking my exit and another guy so far up my backside that after finishing washing down my boat i was unable to drive off and had to wait 20 minutes for the guy in front to move.
Too much money in perth, every !@#$%^&*( with a bit of cash and no idea has gone and got a boat making the long term legitimate boaters suffer for there ignorance and arrogance, a bit of common sense and politeness is all it takes people!
Thank god i work away and can generally launch during the week and avoid this weekend debarkle!
Anyway the facilities at hillarys are bloody fantastic, just a shame some of the people utilising them dont have a clue or a care.
Thats my rave, thanks.
