There are too many blowies inside the marina

You can get decent fish there occassionally, but it is hard to get past the blowies.
Try the south wall behind Aqwa, or go further north and fish off the rocks near the offshore reef, or try the north wall. With the current conditions, fishing off the rocks will be quite comfortable.

apparently the drawbridge

apparently the drawbridge inside the marina is verry good but your not allowed to fish there. i usually go off either the disabled platform, the lighthouse or next to spinnakers on the north wall. i usually get a good fish or two and quite often i will get a run on my bigger gear.

i went down there tonight

Wed, 2008-07-02 18:52

caught about 10 gardies off the south wall (1 hours worth i went too late)

They started coming off the bite so i chucked an unweighted mulie out and within 10 minutes i was hooked onto something big and i mean big because after 5 minutes it just snapped i dont know how but i had my drag set right and everything (maybe my knot wasnt done right i dont know LOL!)

Quite annoyed but im keen for round 2 tomorrow for sure!

rig

Use a burley cage one with a float and one without a float to go a bit deeper, depends where the fish are biting .. i find that the paternoster rig also works well on that side for skippy and some small pink snapper.

My mate got a double header of medium sized skippy which we probably could of kept but we threw them back as we weren't sure what the legal size was.

Alot of yellowtail are caught on that side.

Good Luck!
