Underwater video/housing

Hi Crew,

Recently I've been looking for an underwater housing for my DCR-HC32e PAL video camera and have found out that they have stopped making them.

So, I am looking at purchasing a new video camera with underwater housing as a package.  Does anyone know of any online sites that have good packages at good prices?  I am looking at buying overseas with the good dollar price but have to be careful with ntsc/pal issues etc.  If theres anything local I will look at that too, but its hard to compete with the international $ at the moment.

Anyone got any ideas.  I have tried ikelite.com but they are purely housing specialists.  If need be I will buy from two seperate sources, but one would be better.

Cheers,

Adam

MMMMMAaaaaaattttttttttteeeeeeeeee, As far as the housings go and prices ikelite are hard to go by.

Other manufactufers are companies like subal, amphibico but these are normally pretty damn expensive.

Try the sea optics website, an oz company and they do some various package deals, otherwise I would go with the separate video and ikelite housing

Any ideas on a really good vid camera at a decent price?

Btw: I've got your receipts for the sea tow camera here, do you need them?

Bugger me - prob should keep them I suppose. Just hang on to them and will grab them off you next time I am up your nexk of the woods.

Not sure about what is really out there at the moment in terms of vids - could help you out with still cameras but the vids I have no idea of.

Anything sony I suppose you cant go wrong with, depends on whether you want to use tapes or not too.

Aust based site through a Japanese warehouse ($880 for cam + card + post) and $1450 for the housing through bluewater, through cape byron imports through Ikelite in the states. Unfortunately theres a few middlemen taxes tacked on, but can't do it directly unfortunately.

Most sensational arvo in Exxy at the moment, not a breath of wind and the gulf is mirroring the sky even better than yesterday. Just didn't have the fishing bug today, maybe tomorrow will be different.  Still got yesterdays trout to vac pack. :(
