Horrocks ?

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a boat ramp at Horrocks. Has been ages since I have been there but from memory they did have 1 there. Thinking of stopping for a days fishing on the way back from exxy. Is the fishing any good from out off horrocks. Any info would be great

Port gregory beach is nice and hard next to the jetty and have seen some big boats go in there with not much trouble.

Haven't been to Horrocks in

Haven't been to Horrocks in a few years and lastime the concrete ramp was knackered and getting pulled out. u can launch a small (light) boat from the beach with a 4bee but the entry to the beach gets chopped out and is very soft. Might pay to call the northhamption shire and find out if they have done anything about the ramp situation.

Port gregory is only about 35mins off the main hwy. Might be worth the extra 15 minutes oneway (half an hour return).

Unless you're happy to beach fish, then i would recommend the bowes river mouth south of town. unhook the boat though, its a bit of a goat track. if u have a 4bee than head south of the river again. early morning is the best time but be carefullcrossing the river mouth. if there has been a lot of rain in the previous few days and it hasn't broken through, give it a miss. Particulaly this time of year as its a long drive back round.

Thanks slothwan. If the ramp

Thanks slothwan. If the ramp is knackered I may push on down to Dongarra. I have a 5.8m hard top and 100 series landcruiser as tow vehicle but if the sand is soft I will keep heading south to Dongarra
