I dunno if it is still good after the dredging but using prawns I used to be able to get 7-8 bream (25cm) in an hour on the northern side of the narrows bridge, just where the trees to the east start, about 10-20m out without getting that many blowies
fairly sure the dredging effects are wearing off/ have almost worn off. fishin the river today, can say that the water near herrison was its normal colour, and wasnt cloudy.
also, just down a 5K's further down is the causeway, used to fish there a lot on the southern side on the top of the tide when it starts dropping. cast lightly weighted at the first pylon on the east side, if conditions are good you will get into some good bream, but the blowies can be a nuisanse. When you get more experienced and get the hang of it I'll tell you bout a couple of other spots that contain the bigger bream but are a lot harder to fish without getting smashed.
There are a lot of fish in the swan, but i do the majority of my river fishing in summer around canning bridge
