How did the boaties go today?

Just wondering how the boaties went today. We had the weirest drift. Very strong north current out of cervantes. The wind speed on a normal day would see me chuck out the sea anchor but we were holding ground with 8oz in 40m with a strong southerly.

Was out on Direction Bank out
Was out on Direction Bank out from Mindarie. Was a very sloppy south south east all day, didn't get any respite from it as it went to the south then south west. Drifting was at a rate of knots struggling to hold bottom in 40m with a 24 oz sinker with the sea anchor out. Was a bumpy sloppy quartering sea all the way back in which was a long trip in. Fishing wise heaps of small Dhuies. Took home 2 at about 75cm. Couple of big runs dropped, small sambos and a couple of Red throats. Not a great day but betta than being at work which is where I am now (and knackered) till 6:30 am. On a bright note, when I got to the ramp at about 5:45 the parking meter stole my money and didnt give me a ticket. I cursed abit and went and parked the car without a ticket thinking I'm going to get pinged for sure. A bloke who had just launched must of heard me and gave my Mrs $8 for me to use. He had put to sea by the time I got back so I didn't get to thank him, so if you are on here mate you are a jet. Thanks heaps.

Out of Mindarie on Direction
Out of Mindarie on Direction Bank too. Only a heap of Undersized Dhuis, couple of Red Throats and one 48cm KGW. Very slow day on my boat. :(
As Gav 475 said it was pretty sloppy all day out there, but was managable to run around everywhere at 18-20knts in my Ally. You might need a better/bigger Sea anchor though?, we where holding bottom with 16oz Snapper Leads and 120gm Jigs with no problem.
