Hmmm. Been a few years since I've done a proper count. At least 2 of each line class up to 37kg. Prob 30 combos there. Maybe 6 or so barra rods. Prob another 6 jig sticks. Kids probably have another half dozen. Up around 50?

I have gotten rid of most of my line class comp rods now
When the going was slow we would run a 7 rod spread and have a person on the bow with a casting rod just in case. I only have 22 left now if the wife found out how much each combos worth I would be in trouble. She found the tag of the first 6500 expedition into the state($1750 I think it was) and i was lucky it didnt have the line cost as well. Combos are the cheap part in comps though. I have to take a pic for insurance soon when I do will try and put it up.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

are you having us on catchalittle
you are never going to live long enough to wear any of them out (and i hope you live a long long life) that's just about a combo for each type of fish in the metro area and then some.
I didn't know they made rocket launches for that many rods LOL
way to go

A better question would be how many haven't seen water
In the last two or three years ..............and I bet the number is way more than half your collection, we all have our favourites - I gave a heap away to juniors on this site along with some reels and still have several I haven't used in years, some I built myself and are retained just for memories sake.
And my beach rods dont even live with me any more and reside in a friends Moore River holiday house fior all to use (and abuse)
And one of my favourites, a light graphite stick, cost me a massive $9 off a local internet only fishing store and it has caught some truly amazing fish and is still going strong and always gets taken as it is "lucky" .

Ha ha
Now I am a little embarrased. I do very little fly fishing now, but have 6 fly rods.
I never throw away my rods and reels, as I have a little antique collection passion (any old blow torches out there???, have about 50 off those).
Functional rods and reels between the Mrs and myself about 40, not including the fly rods. A rod for most possibilities, but probably only use 10 all the time. We lived in Bouvard right near Tims and Whitehills but moved up to Kcity. Had to change gear. Now back there so the beach etc outfits are dusted out and back in action.
Dont ask how many old ones, because they are all stored and the reels are packed in a case so they dont corrode etc. Oldest I can recall is a Mitchell without the bail arm from the 70's, and I still have my first ever spin reel that I used as an 8yo (equivalent to a Kmart special).
I would hate to count. And bloody hell would laugh if I did.
Lately cant afford to just get more as I want, because I have gone like D-Doust and only get quality gear. Trying slowly to upgrade all my reels to Stella's or just below. And that aint cheap. Luckily there is Xmas, Valentine's day, Bday and father's day hey!!!!

About 15 all up only 8 of i
About 15 all up only 8 of i use myself, reat are loaners. I still have my very first rod too- some cheap K-mart thing. I'm saving it for my son so it can be his first rod too. I mainly do a lot of estuary, beach fishingand fishing out of the tinny. I have 3 spin combos 1-3kg, 2-4kg and a 3-6kg. I have a 9 footer for chucking lures, a 10 footer for chuck baits for tailor and a 12 footer for chucking big baits out. I have a tld combo which i use when I paddle big baits out off the beach and a 7 foot 15 kg rod which is my 'hope rod' when chasing smaller fish off my tinny.
Reels though.... I want to keep upgrading them for sure

Wife Confused
My wife always questions why I have so many Rods and reels (15+10) and growing. Does not understand different setup for different purposes. Try to explain can't use a 12ft rod on a boat or 6ft overhead setup on the beach.

Hi. Missus caught up with me
Hi.
Missus caught up with me last Oct.
Get rid of some or you'll be sleeping downstairs with them.
I sold 17 rigs. Half a doz separate jig rods and still have.. Shhh 21 rigs in cupboard under the stairs.
Don't tell her I bought a Saltiga 50 lever 2spd. and two Avets SX Black and MXJ Gunmetal with braid (Charkbait)
when she wasn't looking.
(mate's address for postage comes in handy) Slipped ém in while she was at hairdressers last month.
Need a rod for Saltiga now..
