How not to launch your boat
Submitted by Iceman on Tue, 2011-05-03 12:02
Watched this on Sunday. Was launching the vessel, reckons the safety chain u bolt broke. proceeded to push it into the water with his trailer and then went out. Did not get a call for sinking vessel so presume he got back OK.
Apologies for pics as sent to me from phone

Two Rocks
Saw one a big bit bigger years back at Two Rocks, 25 foot glass boat with twin sterndrives just over the hump ant the top of the ramp. After much mucking about trying to winch it back on failed called a crayboat over and dragged it down in to the water. Was brand new and owner first boat, undid shackle and winch wire before reversing and as soon as there was enough slope off it went.

Hey Chris Fish, I hit a cyclone mooring at night and later on had the boat sink at the ramp for everyone to see the next day!!!! HAHAHAHA I would have laughed at my own misfortune, but I was still in surgery sorting out my fractured eye sockets, collarbone, broken nose and lower jaw......Spewing I missed out though.
But keep on laughing about others' misfortune, it great character building....

I once watched a bloke launch his dinghy, look around for something to tie it too while he parked his car and decide his trailer would be a good choice. Can imagine what happened when he drove off...
Really makes you wonder.

Now thats funny :-)
But not quite as funny as several years ago whilst sitting at CPBA watching several Eagles footballers trying to winch their Chivers custom coloured formula 2000 back onto the trailer (having first passed the winch cable UNDER the centre rollers................. :-)

My boat sits with the stern
My boat sits with the stern onto the Mindarie ramp and the times we spend sitting there drinking and watching makes the $7000 a year i have to pay worth it.
I would say 1 in 6 are bad and maybe 1 in 10 should not be boating full stop.
