I've actually been seeing a few while wading lately, more light brown in colour than that one, but at least 4 in the last few weeks. They have been very docile and slightly inquisitive.

Tasselled/prickly leatherjacket
I'm thinking a female/juvenile Tasselled aka Prickly Leatherjacket, Chaetodermis penicilligerus.

Very inquisitive
I've seen quite a few around the groyns in Cockburn sound, not sure the species but very gentle and you can almost catch them by hand when snorkeling. Have seen them range in colours depending on environment, only ever about the size of your hand though.

I seen 2 of these around Bicton last week in about 10cm a water, thought they were dead and past my lure near them and they swam off a little bit and returned to see what the lure was. They had a few deep purple rings on them aswel.

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
