Tricks
There are a few tricks in reversing a trailer specially early morning when its still dark, turn your headlights off that way you can better see what you are doing with the glare from them.
Its easier using your mirrors that trying to screw your head off your shoulders, line up your trailer wheels with the side of your vehicle and only do small adjustments to keep it running in a straight line, if you find you are going from lock to lock then drive forward a fraction till you are back in line and your steering wheel central then start reversing again.

Yep, I'm a mirror man when reversing. Haven't got it wrong yet.

I find reversing a small 6 x 4 trailer harder than the boat, i can't see the small trailer out the back which makes it hard.

If feasible, opening the rear car door when reversing helps with visability for small box trailers and tinnys.

narrower the trailer and shorter the drawbar
harder it is to do well. Long length between the trailer axle and towball means it will respond slower, makes it easier to manage if you have the room ,obviously. I had a small box trailer that had sockets for a pipe rack, I used to stick a broom in it so I could see it before it came out behind the ute's tray

Yea definitely mirrors for me.
One of my pet hates though when your launching early morning and it's still dark, is when a car is already down the ramp launching and they leave their headlights on.!
Sometimes it is just blinding and you can't see a friggen thing....I always turn the headlights off and just run with the parkers.
My fishing spots are so secret........... even the fish don't know where they are !!

A great little trick I've learned is to put your car in neutral once your boat starts going down the ramp so that you are being pulled down by the boat instead of pushing the boat with your car.

Agree with canarvonite
I find the easiest reverses I do is when I take the time to line the car and trailer straight with the ramp before reversing. That way I just roll back and make small adjustments with the steering as I go along - easy as.
Tandem trailer is heaps easier than my old 12ft dinghy trailer and I agree with the mirrors, using neutral and keeping the headlights off when it's dark.
Changed my auto hubs to manual so I can do the old reverse in low range trick when I'm reversing the boat up a hill or somewhere tricky.
