Its Tinny BIllfish Time!
headed out the west side yesterday morning by myself in my tinny. headed straight out to the 100m mark and trolled some skirts around. after a few pest tuna getting the heart pumping for no reason, i saw some birds working in the distance as a come close one skirt got smashed. A nice dolly launched into the air in an absolutly awsome display. i managed to get in the boat with my leader cutting into my hand as it went for a run as i went to tail grab it. next 30 mins i managed 3 dollies in that area, another first for me which was awsome. all where released. after resesting my two rods and teaser i kept trolling and the wind started to pick up so i started to head a little closer to the beack of the reef. as i come into the 85m mark i thought i niticed a bill in my spread but i thought i was seeing things. 30 seconds later my tld exploded into life and as i looked behind there was a small marlin tail dancing its way away from the boat. with a few interesting minutes of fighting the marlin, clearing the other rod, teaser and trying to keep the tinny stable in the chop. 30 minutes later and alot of tail dancing a jumps i had my first marlin to the boat. during the fight i tried to take a photo of it tail walking and had slipd over and belted my camera which now wouldnt turn on. so after unhooking it a towed it for a while until it was able to swim of fine.
after being very content and over the moon. i reset the spread and started heading back to the ramp. as i entered the 65m mark my skirted gar and my tld 15 got hit by something, as i turned around the skirt took of agian but got dropped thats when i notice another bill chassing behind the skirt belting it all over the place but not hooking up. i flicked the reel into free spool and the line went from a slow hum into a scream. i pushed the lever to strick and got a solid hook up. that second a sailfish left the water and tail walked for ever. as i cleared the other rod and teaser i was already running out of line fast so i started the engin and chased it. over the next 45 mins i strugled to get in control. the camera decided to start working agian so while fighting the fish driving the boat i managed to try get some snaps of the saily in action. finally i got it boat side for a few more pics and i saw a boat not fare away. so while i was swimming it back to life drove over there and got them to take a few pics which im waiting to be emailed to me. so in one day i managed to add 3 new fish to my list best days fishing iv ever had!
heres the pics i got

awesome mate. You did better
awesome mate. You did better than us, we got 2 dollies and only 1 marlin up which chose not to eat. It was pretty average weather, you're brave being there in a tinny.

weather?
Weather looks ok in the photos? I think you guys are spoiled with the glass conditionssometimes although water can look better in photos than it actually is.

we didn't launch until about
we didn't launch until about 8:30-9am. It wasn't awful weather but I did think I was glad I didn't take my boat.

cheers guys. weather was ok
cheers guys. weather was ok if ur in a bigger boat. but with the NE cranking and trying to do 8+ knots in a small tinny it gets pritty unconfortable. but its worth getting a little wet for fish like that. hey adam and tim i take it u boys live up here, gotta catch up for a fish one time iv got 5 months up here.
