After the 2015 and 2018 GFs it looks like old mate has pissed his pants again. He could have at least done the righty and let the club trade him to Freo before pulling the pin.
At least Oscar will be able to play as a permanent forward and hopefully drop less chest marks.

My eldest son is 7 and was an Eagle until last year when he became a Melb/Dogs supporter, I'm really hoping this is the year that he decides once and for all that he needs to support a winningish team and jumps interstate, preferably into the Brown and Gold....
Going to be an interesting year for the Eagles, Good for them to have Optus back as a home ground but it still feels like a mountain too high to be playing finals this year...

I reckon the Hawks and Pies will finish in that mid range this year with neither anywhere near a flag...
Yeo out for a month and Dom Sheed out for most of the season by the sounds, not that I rate him very highly, he's just another pre season casualty for the Eagles who don't seem to be able to get much going their way atm.

Bit of a shabby pre season for the Eagles thus far
Hopefully they can pull a 2018 and answer the critics with a miraculous premiership, though it looks like a tough task ahead if I'm realistic about their prospects this year

Will be good to see some Youngbloods getting a few games under their belts with all these injuries I guess.
Frockers fans will be getting excited after that scratch match no doubt and their team should finish higher on the ladder than the Eagles this year, though they have a habit of crushing the dreams of their supporters lol.
Anyway, hopefully I can get out fishing in the not too distant future and catch something. Been so long I have almost forgotten what it's like to catch a fish as I have been focusing on gold prospecting since 2020. Look forward to the footy banter and Frosty's pearls of wisdom, Boon's in depth analysis, lots of Eagles bashing by Skull and co etc

Have mainly been prospecting around Meekatharra and my biggest nugget so far is 17 grams. Been waiting for the temp to cool down, as it has been around 43° lately. Have also found a few small bits under a gram, but they all add up.

I'm not at all optimistic about the Eagles chances this year, what with all the injuries and bloody stupid Jack listening to the tinfoil hat brigade! Probably wish they had held onto Jarrod Brander now. Would have been useful.
Boon - it'll be interesting how the Hawks go under Sam Mitchell. Not a lot of people have good things to say about him as a bloke but time will tell if he's a good coach. He's certainly got a pretty impressive group of assistants around him.

Being realistic, I can't see
Being realistic, I can't see us pushing out of the bottom half of the bottom 12. Injury and premature retirements of Shep and JD aside, winning the ball in the middle and delivery into our forward 50 with Kennedy being the only real target is my main concern.
If we do bottom out we'll at least go into the trade and draft period with a strong hand with picks and a warchest from the approx $2.5m we'd have been paying Darling, Shep, Hurn and JK.

Agree with you Frosty. Bottom 6 is the most likely outcome unfortunately. Hard to be positive when half your starting lineup are out. There's always a chance to expose some new talent but even then it takes time to develop.
