Well worth entering POTM competition, you don't see many pics of Hapuka most of the deep drop photos are of grey band cod or trevalla.
Great catch, what depth of water did you catch it in, and how far of the coast where you.
and nice looking fish.
Also like the fact for "semi" deep drop no lecky reel. Good old coffee grinder.
PS: Mate I would rather chew on the Puka than that rod - doesn't look tasty to me :-)

Meglodon around 20NM off the
Meglodon around 20NM off the coast and in around 140ms they seem to be in quite shallow at the moment.
Tom M, 350gm shimano wing jig cheap and very effective out there!
