Jigging the FADS
Submitted by Webbwah on Tue, 2013-04-02 13:36
So been jigging the depths and super comfortable getting half a dozen amberjacks and sambo on most trips out.
Thinking of trying further out towards the FADS. But not too sure if the jigging is the way to go out there or would we be better off throwing some livies and baits down.
What is ur opinion?

Probably better off tralling
Probably better off tralling some hard bodied lures or skirts or throwing some plastics or chromies

shallow divers
platics, stickbaits all produce dollys on the fads where there on. Only switch to bait/lives if your desperate. jigging the fads you will find snapper schools on th bottom.

Cheers guys will have to try some lures when i get out there. And maybe jig the bottom.
I had never jigged until only a year ago and now i love it, great action and generally really good runs!

hi~
in my opinion, when those fish are active , just throw ur jig into water n enjoy the fun~
keep live bait till fishes are not taking jig anymore~~^_^
in malaysia, we do put a piece of fish fillet on the jig assist when targeting bottom species such as grouper or snapper~and its quite effective as well~

Jigging the FADS
We were out at the Furuno FAD a couple of weeks back and the schools were showing about 80-100m down so my mate dropped a Black Magic Sambo jig down and got smashed by the biggest Dollie for the day. It definately works and I bet the Wahoo would love jigs too.
