Jigging question

Ok Will be checking pots for the next few weekends before the ban lifts. If we score a really good day the boys want to go and jig for Sambos. Question is we could catch Dhuies or other demersals as a by product. What's the go with this even though we are not targeting them? Cheers

Went chasing KGW on size 2 hooks
and first fish was a double figure dhuie on a tiny bit of squid......certainly wasn't targetting it on such light gear, big baldie the second drop.....both quickly released.
Plenty of guys target sambos on jigs but by catch is just that by catch, release quickly and no issue based upon the regs.

Jig away.
If your chasing sambos, I'm assuming you'll be using knife type jigs rather than slow pitch (leaf shaped)and using a rapid retrieve. That will reduce your chances of catching a demersal as by catch. Also would put you in the clear for specifically targeting them.
