gents need some help, after 12 months taking up driveway space decided it was time to take the boat our (plus currently being out of work I have some spare time). Anyway battery dead, no biggie buy a new one happy days nope. Fuel line all dry and primer bulb stiff as, no biggie buy a new one, happy days, nope.
She fires runs then stops, reprime and start it. Runs the fuel dry and stops. Now I'm out of ideas, is there anyone here who can it fix it for me? Johnson 70hp VRO.
I'm in Belmont
Cheers

first do you have new fuel in
first do you have new fuel in it? does the primer get hard when squeezed? or stay soft or squeeze in flat when it fires ?
make sure all connections you replaced are tight IE no air getting into lines.
check water separator for seals or holes.
if all of above ok
next move to fuel pump ...... try squeezing primer continuously ......motor runs ....prob fuel pump. could easily be a dry seal

cheers
yep new fuel, can't hear any leaks, primer starts pretty hard did try pumping primer while it was running but still died. Check carb float bowls are full by loosing plug, pumped the primer fuel came out.

could just be that it's oiled
could just be that it's oiled up over the long stand.
how many times have you tried this?
mine ....if I leave for a loooong time(has been years since I've left it for more than a month) does this a couple of times until the "run times" get longer and longer. and eventually idles easily.

If the fuel runs dry the VRO
If the fuel runs dry the VRO is still pumping in oil so this won't help with oiling up side of things
