Jouvie Swan Mulla

Caught my first Mullaway yesterday in the Swan near Garrett Rd. As you can see, just a little jouvie but was still a nice sight to see. Makes me think our waterways are getting back to reasonable health and fish stocks are OK. Caught on a piece of prawn while targetting bream.

Think fisheries released a heap last year, might be one of them. Would look great in my aquarium!
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Probably not part of the restocking program by Recfishwest, I think they were all mid 20's at time of release. The tag is a little yellow thing, like a 10cm piece of spaghetti. If the photo works, this is one I caught about a month or so ago near Maylands, was about 40cm.

Even better news if it's not part of the program! Love seeing young fish of sortafter species being caught, means we're in a position for years to come (providing they're returned to the water).
