July 18th fishing

Was a great day on the water today, a bit quiet on the fishing front, found a spot in 40M with big whiting 30+ cm, headed out to a few marks, 1st drop resulted in a seriously big fish running at a rapid rate I was worried of being spooled but snapped me off on the bottom (big sambo), the fish seemed to come on the bite when we had to leave last 2 drops resulted in a doubled header dhuies, and a baldie which fell victim to a drift bait. Water was like glass on the way back in.
P.S. - took your advice andy, used bottom zoom on the sounder and turned off the fish symbols!
Cheers

Steve's beloved fish symbols
I'm surprised he let you do that Dean.
Nice result, shame some of us had to work today.

Which lake were you fishing
The only fishing I got to do yesterday was sitting in the office skimming through WAFM to enter the readers competitions.

Nice effort on the fishing
Nice effort on the fishing fellas. I've been on leave the last 2 weeks however work called me in (of all days to work) on the perfect boating days you are talking about! Not happy Jan!
I managed to take the family with boat in tow to Gero and still did alright on some ordinary days. I sounded out some new ground (for me) around the pensioners bank and the dhuies were thick. Every boating trip saw more dhuies boated than wrasse...again new for me? Lol!
I successfully released all of them except for the ones that I kept for the pan :) Though it got to the stage where I hoped for something else like maybe a pinkie or a baldie....only to have my hopes dashed by another bloody dhui! Lol!
Maybe next time!~
