Well our Gamex trip has been shut down by the bloody cyclone so gonna spend a full week in Jurien bay cos neither of us is going back to work next week. Never fished out of there in a boat so after any info anybody willing to give for demersals out there like what depths should be looking at etc. Also anybody think its worth a try pulling some big marlin pushers along the bank edge out to say 400+ metre for marlin or yellowfin ive heard the fads are not there any more so any jurien bay fishing info would be great cheers Dave

Jurien has 2 banks which
Jurien has 2 banks which you'll see on your charts, about 10 and 16nm out. Drift over these and you'll get a good mixed bag. 1st bank starts to peter out pretty much due west of Jurien, so if you want to fish it, best to head out south passage. 2nd bank fishes much the same. Any ground you find before or between the banks will be gold, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The edge of continental slope is just off the back of 2nd bank. Some good ground with big drop-offs 40-50 fathoms where you get good schools of pink snapper. If there's any floats around on 2nd bank, you sometimes see some dolphin fish. Yes there's marlin around, but I don't target them.
Just watch where you're navigating if swell is over 2.5m -3m. Around the south passage channel markers starts getting a bit dodgy at this size and I've worn a few breakers our the years.
