Jurien Bay Jigging
Submitted by collie on Tue, 2008-11-04 09:41
Hey guys,
Im heading to to Jurien Bay in mid December and was wondering if it would be productive to chase sambos on the jigs. I have an 18.5 foot boat so i can get offshore a bit. i understnad there are drop ofs 3 and 20Km offshore. Anybody have any pointers about jigging becuase i have only done it on a charter before. I have some decent gear which will be heavy enough but how far offshore do you think you would need to head?? Also any jigs and/or techniques you wold reccommend??
Cheers.
Mark.

Jigging
You can jig up just about anything on jigs out there, it's not just Sambo's that eat jigs, I would recommend taking a few different weighted jigs and give them a go on any reef or drop off you find.

Jigs
Sometimes when the fish are quiet if you drop down a jig and start working it the fish fire up , quiete often we find fish but no bites drop a jig down and get some action going and wham there on, and it's usually the bigger fish chasing the jigs too.
