Yeah they definitely pull harder pound-for-pound than sambos!
Managed to pull a few up. hard to get past the sambos, either way great fun on the jigs :)

great job on the king mate - heading up there grand final wk end to see what we can get up, what depth were you in?
plenty of sambos around the island great fun in shallow water.
Got the kingys in the 50's.
Plenty of sambos and pinkies in close at the moment... good luck!

How did the smaller one go on the plate JimJams?
we came in at he same time on Sunday..... I was with the guys with the nice catch of demersals

Tried it this evening, both cooked and thinly sliced with soy sauce/wasabi as sashimi.
I was very impressed, the sashimi especially!
Cooked, it has a similar texture to Spanish mackerel and certainly have no problem eating them... will probably stick to the smaller models though.
