Its a fish....what else can it taste like?? Chicken?? lol....just kidding man. Ive never eaten wild barras, only farmed ones locally or restaurants and both are fishy and abit on the soggy side.

Nah not fishy mate. Probably what makes them popular, since most people don't like the fishy taste. They are over-rated though IMO, but better than average on the plate. Plenty of better fish up north (Mangrove Jack, Goldies, Trout etc).
