What reel was the first one? Sounds awesome when the fish pulled the line and also when you wind.

That was the old TLD 20
I've had it for quite a few years and barely used it. Had 80lb braid on it which was ridiculous, re-rigged with 50( holds maybe 700m) and started using it. Good old reels, and cheap as chips nowadays. It was towing an Abrolhos Tormentor all morning, and caught nearly all the fish. Rod is a T-Curve 200 deep jig, 23kg. Ran out of battery on the 3rd Mackerel.

Something to consider when I'm looking to buy an overhead combo!

Looks like a good trolling
Looks like a good trolling session, good stuff! I notice you were running 2 red head lures, I'm guessing that's your favourite colour up that way? Never done well with it myself.

Are redheads my favorite?
No, certainly not, but they are a pretty consistent producer around here. I'd normally run a spread of colours. I was running the Abrolhos Tormentor and a Rapala X-rap Magnum side by side as a trial. Same colours, being pulled on identical rods, with identical line and leader. Abrolhos lure scored 4 to 1 for strikes and hookups. I wasn't running wire on either, gambling on the forward mounting of the tow point and the big solid bib being enough to keep the majority of teeth away. Worked the first couple of trips I tried it, but I had two bites offs that day, apart from the sharking, so I'd better go back to my original setup of 200mm of fine single strand in front.
Weather great for a couple of days, breeze in the afternoon. getting towards the end of February, our weather usually starts to improve, with more and more windows.
