Kalbarri trip this saturday

Heading to kalbarri on saturday for a few nights.  Taking the 5m plate ally.  Will have a good supply of 24kg trolling gear and lures, skirts tremblers, deep and shallow divers.  Plus some jigs, plastics and bait rigs.  What else should i take? Crab nets?  Bream gear if its windy outside?

When I was home last week was still largely zero pelagic. Might get lucky.Probably better heading out wide for a bottom bash, weather is usually pretty good this time of year for that. drag a lure behind while you are looking.  I'll be home Friday afternoon if all goes well with seatrial of new tub in Gero, catch up if you like.

Out today

Mon, 2018-04-16 17:40

Perfect conditions today, water 24.3c, no pelagic activity but good bottom bouncing results. Water is still a little green but clearing. Ralph, Ocean Reef found its way to fish today. You trained it well!

Family will be up that way later in May and if the ocean is closed out are there still crabs in the river?

Crabs come and go all the time. Hard to predict.

We will be at Gregory but as that place is often blown out a nice little river cruise with a few drop nets should keep the wifes happy

Been out for a troll this

Sun, 2018-04-22 11:03

Been out for a troll this morning up past sand patch.  Lots of bait balls.  Three different types of lure, deep diver, giant trembler, and a skirt.  Six different colours.  And.....

Nothing but a bait ball giving us the bird.

Its was quite overcast.  So bit hard to tell.  Did not look that clear.  22.8° until the temp stopped working on the sounder.
