Kayak jigging

Hey guys I was just wondering about kayak jigging down south, specifically near Hamelin bay island area.
I am trying to catch a Samson fish, any tips for down that area.

 Jigging from a yak is

Jigging from a yak is definitely possible but can be difficult to impart a proper action on high speed knife jigs. Find a lump and either try slow pitch jigs or big soft plastics and you should have some success.

If that doesn't work catch yourself a few herring and tow them around live

I've actually had a lil experience in this department although it was off yallingup, as said quite tricky to get the right action going with your big knife jigs but fishing the rod high in your arms eg butt under your armpit you can manage to get an action that will provoke a strike but the initial loading up of the rod is the tricky part, you have to keep your line as close to the nose of the yak as possible otherwise you might end up in the drink like i have a couple of times. A good posture helps alot too. Definitely worth a crack mate and you got the right idea with area, lots of good ground very close to shore down here.

 Would throwing stick baits

Would throwing stick baits over the reefs work? I've never yak fished down there but stick baiting sambos off the yak would be pretty awsome.
