Me and a few mates are going kayaking soon in canning river and i havent caught anything decent there. If anyone has been fishing there landbased or kayak could you tell me what you caught and where are the best spots in canning river.
Any help is much appreciated

Salters point
Salters point is usually good for a couple of bream. If you dig up some pippis on the flats around shelley and salters point then fish these in close to the wooden poles sticking up all over the place on the aquinas bay side of the point you should get a couple decent bream. Unfortunately there don't seem to be many big bream in the canning but fishing along the wooden fences running down the middle of most parts of the river will get you some bream or grunter with the odd flatty or two
