KELS2 campground, shelter bay question
Submitted by beeroclock on Wed, 2022-11-02 12:38
Gday guys ive just managed to book the KELS2 camp ground in shelter bay for next year. Gonna be bringing boat over from denham. My question is has anybody on here camped in that spot with a boat before? is it safe to moor boat in front ie is there any shalow rocks i have to look out for etc and is there hard flat rock right on the water edge i gotta watch out for. Also is it worth chucking a line off kels rocks for a fish or squid if the wind is up and i cant get out to the ocean? thanks for any info

Been there
Kels 2 is completely shallow rock all the way out, depending on what boat you could be ok, ie if your bringing a tinnie or something small.
Caught flatties, bream, snapper, cod, kingies, trevally, emperors, BIG sharks, baldies and tuskies there, caught squid and cuttlies also.

Hmmm ....a bloody heavy 24 foot fibreglass with yammy 250
looks like im gonna have to moor it way off the front of the beach. Its ok though, the mrs doesnt know about the resident monster bullshark that ive seen cruising up and down there in the past, i will just get her to go retrieve boat in the morning when i want to go fishing ha ha ha
