KG sesh!

With Sundays forecast just gone looking good (despite maybe some rain) I thought it’s time to target offshore KG’s and re-stock the freezer as I was all out of KG fillets!

I took out good mate Frank (aka FW Guardy) who has had some success with KG’s but never cracked the code and he was very keen. I launched from Woodman’s Point and headed to South of Rotto!

I slowly worked my way south going to many spots and picking up a few KG’s off each spot and as soon as they didn’t bite I moved on. We ended up bagging out with plumps KG’s as I thought the bag limit was 8 per license (it's 12) so we could of kept on fishing lol

KG's were in between 42m to 53cm and we picked up 2 dhufish as bycatch with the biggest measuring just over 80cm and what a fight on light’ish KG gear!

Everything came together (doesn't always) and what an awesome day on the water with good company (cheers Frank)

Two of the best eating fish and Happy Days!!

Great when you can get your target fish, limit has never worried me out deep but will remember that during winter when me and the grandsons target them in Warnbro Sound.

I was under the impression that they are better in Warnboro in late spring early summer.

Will have to try my spots in winter

Thanks guys and yes targeting a species and getting them is certainly a buzz!

Yep time on the water and sussing them out will crack the code but they can be finicky at times!

John F that always reminds me of the good old saying "small things amuse small minds" ..... haha chuckle
