Land of sweet Liberty (pic heavy)

Hi all, just thought I'd post a few pics from our recent trip to the US that I thought might interest you guys. We travelled to Dubai, New York,Washington (by train), Orlando and then back to New York. New York is insane and worth a visit just to see it in action. Any hour of the day or night is flat out. This first shot is from a quick cruise on The East river of the NYPD water section. Looks like they use Naiads too or something ver similar.

Saw this reel in the museum of American history, looks like the overhead goes way back

So down to Orlando where it's all go

Camping and fishing store that went on forever. It took over an hour just to walk the fishing aisles

Then to the gun section and hand gun after hand gun so I picked the biggest a Sith and Wesson 460 made my day ;)

There were macine guns, pump actions you name the yanks don't hold back.

Here's a boat for sale at the same place

This was one of my highlights of the trip at the top of the Rockerfeller  buliding. Empire state front and the building to the rear left is one of the new towers to replace the world trade centre (tower 1) there will be 7 in all at differing heights.

All in a top trip and will do New York again one day but Vegas will be next.

Geez , would of been tempting to put a deposit on a boat ... yanks and their guns , strewth .. machine guns be handy for shooting ducks I suppose . I have one of those prints of the blokes having their smoko on a beam during the construction of the Rockerfeller building , thats one big tall building .

Love the T shirt.

How cheap are the hand guns? I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I lived over there.

Looks like a great time Andy!

Only in America

Hey Andy

Sounds like you had a great holiday.

That fishing/camping store looks like it could fill a Bunnings warehouse....imagine the damage you could do to your 'plastic' if they had those types of stores here. What did you buy from there??

I'm guessing it also had a food hall and a bar, too!

Gotta love that hand gun.

Hi Rusty, Mate we ran out of time trying to look around the whole store it I reckon bigger than a Bunnings wharehouse. There were a few eating places in there (just about anywhere you go in America you can wolf food) If I'd  had the baggage space I would've spent a lot on lines etc The range was huge and the lures were cheap too.

oUTDOOR wORLD

I have lived in the states for a cvouple of times, in Chicago and Virginia. Chicago had an outdoor world which I swear is 5 times bigger than a bunnings. It had a huge fishtank with massive fish (I suppose to test the lures before you buy them 8-)

There must have been 30-50 boats inside, there was an indoor archery range and pistol range to Try before you Buy.

The range was massive, the prices bugger all.

As an aside, I also did a lot of shooting and hunting there. My goal was to fire the largest handgun in the world, a .44 I thought. Nope, there is a .50 cal pistol (Desert Eagle) Awesome handgun with a max effective range of 650 ft, would have cost me $1200 then (2000). The recoil was awesome. Try googling Desert Eagle, there are some awesome vidoes on Youtube

Sincerely

Willy
