Landbase Snapper Bunbury

Has anyone ever caught one? I been to a spot and caught a few little ones to 10 -15 cm but wondering if with bad weather they come in close? I dont want to know of any special spots. Just if it is possible?

I have an idea as to where I may get some thou.

I live in bunbury, have tried but to no avail. Not convinced they come in at bunno but would be very happy for someone to tell me otherwise.

I also have snagged a few bay snapper but nothing bigger.

FERAL have you caught pinkies and mullas there b4?

If you head over to the north side of the shipping channel opposite Cable sands process plant when the wind and swell are pumping you are in with a good chance. Big baits and be prepaired to sit and wait.

The snapper come down right in to the ship turning basin and the trick is to use the wind behind you to get the baits out in to the deeper water

Mate and I used to get quite a few there years back, never told anyone so had it to ourselves. First woke up to it when working on the construction of the harbour and would regularly scoop up pinkies when setting off charges to break up the basalt to allow it to be dredged while working for marine and harbours

That was about the time that the Mayor? David Smiths mum used to feed them from their jetty where the TAB stands next to the Parade hotel

They were not a problem then but cannot comment on now.
