Landbased Fishing Esperance

Gday All,

Im heading to esperance for a family holiday over the easter break, and my nephew wants me to take him fishing.

Any suggestions on where to go and what rigs to use and what fish are around that area?

Cheers for your help

Sheldon

Gday mate, yep check that other thread for some good spots, PM me for some more if you will be 4wding.

Take your nephew to the jetty for some squid action and plenty of herring, use the old lumo tube and blob rig for them.

Off the beach and rocks I use 2 main rigs on 2 rods. A paternoster rig in 20lb mono with 2 droppers with red long shanked hooks for herring, whiting, skippy and flatties.

And a single dropper paternoster with 5/0 7766 mustad gangs and a sinker to suit the conditions, eg star, spoon, impact etc Make the sinker trace long as the sandcrabs can be a pain, so much that I sometimes run a cork or foam above the gang. This will see you right for salmon, gummies, big skip etc Obviously run wire if the bronzies come in

Salmon should be firing too round then and the wind tends to die off then too.

Good luck

bronzie

was probaly a bronzie Colin, theres always a few lurking around, especially near the cleaning tables. Good fun to target but probaly have to walk it back to shore to land it.....which has been done a few times before

Also there was a few pinkies caught at the end couple of years ago...which would have been a big suprise!!!
