Don't mean to put a dampener on your idea but I have been fishing Cottesloe a couple of times a week for the past month or so and got stuff all!! Late last year we were gettting some pretty good tailor from Grant Street and sometimes the groyne but none so far this year.I would maybe be trying Floreat Drain or even North Mole instead.
All I can say is some good numbers of Tailor better start turning up soon. I have alomst forgotten what it feels like to hook a half descent fish from the shore it has been that long.
Me and a few mates were fishing near Trigg beach not long ago and were getting some really good bites on whole fresh whiting. Might be worth a look over that way as well.
burley up there. I have found that you have more chance of catching tailor in that area if you can keep your bait up off the bottom.

to near the southern end of where Boy In A Boat reef comes in closest to the marina. Burley up there and you should get a good feed of skippy at least.

Burley always helps in any rock based situation in my opinion, thats why i developed my own to cut down costs. Tailor will be a regular occurance soon at hillaries when the weather warms up abit. Bait casting or bottom riggs work well but i find i get way more hookups on half mulies rather than whole ones.

It might be worth a cast around the reefs in the Cott area
as there have been some tailor caught in the mornings and evenings.

You will certainly attrract a few skippy around if you
burley up there. I have found that you have more chance of catching tailor in that area if you can keep your bait up off the bottom.

If you don't have any luck there try moving up the wall
to near the southern end of where Boy In A Boat reef comes in closest to the marina. Burley up there and you should get a good feed of skippy at least.
