landbased sambo

Hi all
Went up to Wilbinga for the weekend. Caught a couple of nice tailor before i was into a battle with a big sambo. Stripping 250m of line and a long hard battle, 20 minutes later, eventually it gave up. I won!!!! Measuring 1623mm and weighing in at..... well you can be the judge of that. I think between 30-40kg...maybe more!!! Tried to release it but didnt stand a chance. Tried swimming it for about 20 minutes but to no success. I'll never forget my first sambo.....

Crap!! I measured it with 80lb leader then cut it n took it home to measure it with the tape measure.I did double check it though. I cleaned the fish there.

Got it on a stradic 8000FI
Got it on a stradic 8000FI spooled with 30lb daiwa tournament braid and a okuma Xfactor 10-15 12ft. Got it on tailor rig 80lb black magic with a set of gangs. Bait was a scalie!!

Looked at the post and thought another Sambo post
So skipped it. I have seen sambos before.
Then thought why is there so many comments and looked.
Blown away. That is a serious capture anywhere, and landbased its exeptional. Epic capture and not on very powerful gear. Be proud man, long time for a repeat episode.
