Last winter tailor

Scored a few tailor last winter, this was my biggest at a little under 75cm- weighed around 6.2lb from memory
No bait, 6lb braid, nothing better , cant wait for next winter!

Some days they were there, some days they wern't.
Caught a few others, 60-65cm, lost a couple also that i reckon would have been a fair bit bigger than this guy :(
Ahh well theres always next winter!

congrat's on catching a real rip snorta of a fish, how did it taste by the way i have been told you have to be careful of worm in the big old boys can you comment on that

Sure can, tasted lovely, all fish were bled straight away and put on ice , one day i didnt have ice and the difference was definately noticeable.. not quite as firm flesh and a bit more fishy tasting.
Found no worms whatsoever , out of over half a dozen fish.

Generally.. Winter: bigger
Generally..
Winter: bigger fish, small schools
Summer: smaller fish, bigger schools
Thats usually the case

nice one mate, the winter tailor are usually fatter and weigh allot more than the summer tailor, but i have caught 80cm in length tailor both summer and winter just the weight makes a nice difference when fighting the fish, good work
