Havent been there for about 5 years, but if the ramp is the same you shouldnt have any problems. Much bigger boats getting launched there with normal 4wd,s. Wind plays a big part in how easy or not easy it is to launch there.

Cheers

It's a bit tricky to say the least, but doable for sure.

Firstly, it's very soft sand up there, and also the actual launching area of beach is really steep. Good for launching, but hard to retrieve. I was there in august, and got bogged with my 4.2m tinny trying to retreive on the first day. Lucky some old quobba local dude came over and snatched me out.

We ended up just not putting the trailer in the water, and just winching the boat onto the trailer over the sand, so as to avoid the steep boggy section of ramp, but that was pretty easy to do with the dinghy and I doubt you foul do that with a bigger boat.

My advise is to go to martins trailer parts, and buy yourself a retrieval wheel. That way you can keep your car on the high and dry, and use a good tow rope to pull your trailer out.

the retrieval wheel is a necessity in those situations.

Retrieval wheel

If you are planning at launching at the Blowholes ramp a retrieval wheel is vital unless you have ANOTHER 4x4 on standby to pull you out. Its all soft sand and very steep as others have said. Drop your tyres before even thinking of launching and use a rope or snatch strap to drag the trailer back up.

Most of the regulars just use their dinghy up there because you don't have too far to travel to get on to fish, anything out wide is done from Carnarvon some 22nm by sea

Was up there a couple of weeks ago. I would not launch over the beach as looked dodgy. Also you would need to know your way out to the open ocean as a lot of reef and very difficult if seabreeze in.

Suggest if going that far go a bit further to Coaral Bay. Better Ramp and safer.

Its also handy because it holds a whole spare wheel and prepped hub. That image is from Hal Harvey's Hewes, trailer by roadmaster, martin's trailer parts no doubt have the same.
