Laying carpet on fibreglass

Hey guys
wanna lay some carpet not sure whether u need board or stick it straight to the deck if that's the case what do you use

You can glue it straight to the deck
Then you end up with something which will always stink, take ages to dry, and assist your deck to rot becuase it stays wet forever. Hope you've got a good wet vac, or a pressure sprayer, and detergent, because, if you stick it down, it's the only way you will get it clean.
There are a number of options better than carpet.

Contact adhesive
Spray Contact adhesive for boat carpet, prep the floor with a 40 grit sanding disk to scuff up the flowcoat if applicable, reseal with polyester resin. Leave carpet in sun to make it more ply able. Pressure clean after fishing. My boat never smells....may get 3 to 5 years before a redo

If you can avoid it don't
If you can avoid it don't glue it down. Mine just lays flat and doesn't move around, easier for cleaning both boat and carpet

my carpet is rubber backed and doesn't move at all - easy to remove and clean then put back once dry
